The HAHN Group Sales Roadshows – an event review

In September and October the HAHN Group organized several localized sales road shows as an alternative to the annual sales conference. Usually around 70 German-speaking sales employees from the various HAHN Group subsidiaries meet in one place to exchange ideas and develop their networks. Due to the travel and assembly restrictions of the corona pandemic, however, the event had to take place in a smaller scale. Therefore, it took place in several regions and was carried out with smaller groups at each location.

The sales staff met at three HAHN Group sites in Germany: at HAHN Automation in Rheinböllen, at HAHN Robotics in Diepenau, and at Waldorf Technik in Engen. The first day started with the presentation of the new company presentation with many insights into the development of the corporate group by Thomas Hähn, CEO of the HAHN Group. On top of that, a presentation of the latest standard products, such as Smart Solutions, Mobile Robots and the Palletizing Kit took place. The second day of the roadshow featured a local factory tour and joint workshops.

These product presentations and the exchange with one another were of central importance for the sales teams in order to get to know the solutions of the sister companies within the HAHN Group, as well as to discuss the possible combinations for customized systems with standard solutions.

“We are impressed by every one of you. That is why we encourage the exchange of ideas and networking between our teams,” Thomas Hähn told his audience. “With the HAHN Group and our subsidiaries, we still have a lot of potential for growth. That is why we invest in you and give you the security you all need so that you can continue to do your great work. “

Equipped with lots of new information and marketing tools, the sales teams return to their workplaces. Building on the positive feedback of this event series it will be repeated next year at other HAHN Group locations. In addition, the HAHN Group plans to promote closeness to their customers, which is why starting in spring 2021, the HAHN Group will implement mobile trade fairs or road shows with the motto „Advanced Automation“. The respective sales teams can arrange individual appointments with their customers and present the latest product innovations Smart Solutions, Mobile Robots and Palletizer on site and in person. So far, three events are planned at three different locations in Germany. However, this concept will soon be expanded. With the help of the mobile road show, customers and salespeople no longer have to forego personal contact, but have the opportunity for exchange while adhering to the current hygiene and safety requirements.

On an international scale the HAHN Group is planning for a series of digital training events, in order to make the content of the German sales roadshow accessible to all. This event series is already in development for January and February 2021 in order to successfully kick off the new year.

Diepenau, Germany – Ingo Heuer and Cord Rodenberg join the GeKu management team alongside Thorsten Gerling.

Effective February 1, 2020, Ingo Heuer and Cord Rodenberg became members of the management of GeKu Automatisierungssysteme GmbH. This reflects the company’s growth in recent years. In their roles, the new managing directors take over the operational management of the company. Thorsten Gerling remains CEO of GeKu and will focus on the company’s future strategic direction and development. The management trio aims to further develop GeKu and its employees within the HAHN Group, leading them successfully into the future with continuous growth.

Ingo Heuer and Cord Rodenberg have firm roots in the company. Heuer joined GeKu in 2013, three years later he advanced to the position of technical manager. Rodenberg has had a similar career trajectory. After several positions in German mechanical engineering companies, Rodenberg joined GeKu as a sales engineer, where he became sales manager in 2016. Both have been responsible for many areas of the company independently since the beginning of 2019. The official raise into the management is the next step.

“In Ingo Heuer and Cord Rodenberg, we have found two additional managing directors for GeKu, which complement each other perfectly,“ explains Thorsten Gerling, founder and managing director of GeKu Automatisierungssysteme GmbH. „We are certain that with this expansion in our management we will continue to promote and secure the positive development of GeKu. More flexible solutions for plastics manufacturing

Diepenau, Germany – GeKu and HAHN Robotics work even closer together with a new location in Northern Germany and are expanding their offering for the plastics industry.

GeKu recognizes the expanded potential of collaborative robot solutions for customers in the plastics industry. The HAHN Group, together with the Managing Director of GeKu, Thorsten Gerling and Marco Unverzagt, Managing Director of HAHN Robotics, establishes a subsidiary of HAHN Robotics in Northern Germany.

For the plastics industry, the companies of the HAHN Group have jointly developed application cases with collaborative robot technology for the handling of plastic parts. For example, cobot Sawyer from Rethink Robotics proves to be very easy to install and operate in this application area. At the same time, Sawyer is very flexible and can be used in many ways in companies in the plastics industry. Employees are relieved from taking on repetitive tasks and engage in more demanding tasks in the value chain. This ensures a high level of acceptance of the cobot within the workforce. Visitors to the fair can see at booth E61 in hall 10 how collaborative robot technology will support automation processes.

For about 25 years, plastics manufacturing has profited from GeKu’s automation of highly complex injection molding processes as well as individual high-tech automation and handling solutions. The founding of the subsidiary company Diepenau in Northern Germany, under the management of industry expert Thorsten Gerling, enables an expansion of their offers with security analyzes and integration of collaborative and industrial robot systems. The resulting solutions for plastics manufacturing are even more adaptable and target the challenges of the customers. With a total investment of 1.5 million euros, GeKu and HAHN Robotics will continue to serve the continuously growing needs of the automation industry in the future.

Thorsten Gerling, Managing Director of GeKu and the new subsidiary of HAHN Robotics in Northern Germany, is excited for the possibilities: „We are looking forward to being able to offer the plastics industry in the future even more flexible and future-oriented solutions. Through the cooperation within the HAHN Group, we have already recognized numerous trends and are working on the goal-oriented implementation of solutions for the needs of our customers and cooperation partners.“
